I have a 2012 Taco Trd off road. I'm unable to pair both BT phone and audio on my new phone. I can pair either the phone OR audio player and each works perfectly. However I can't pair up both to use BT phone and audio together. I've tried the new phone on other BT devices without failure. Other phones have the same result with my truck. So I'm sure it's the stock HU, non touch screen. Has anyone else had this problem? If so was it able to be resolved? Thanks for reading.

In the bluetooth settings for you phone find the device name - mine actually says "TOYOTA Tacoma". Depending on what phone you have there should be a settings button next to the Tacoma device. In that menu You may find check boxes for "Call Audio" and "Media". Check out mine below.

Thanks for the reply I have both profiles as your screenshot does but can't get both checked at the same time. Strange thing, is that the LED's on the HU show that both BT & audio player are connected. If I unpair and go through the setup still can only get one to work. I appreciate your help.

Stupid question, but does the owner's manual say both features are supported simultaneously? I don't know anything about the 2012 models, but it could be the factory radio did not support both simultaneous connections.

I have a 2015 and the saleswoman mentioned "something, something older models didn't support both"..after 6 hours at the dealership I was done listening. I would do what ike says. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Thanks all. According to the OM head unit does support both audio & phone I narrowed it down to the HU. I connected my BT to another OEM taco radio in about 10 seconds and both audio & phone functions worked perfectly. Over to the dealership to see if they will help me out. An upgraded HU would be nice lol.

I had to pair the phone and tell it to use the music. It wouldn't work if I paired the music first.
That voice menu is a PITA!

If using an iphone, I had to do the following:

Everything is the same as explained in the manual, except I added the step in red. Then everything worked

    On Entune do the following:

    • 1. Press the Home button.
    • 2. Select the Setup icon in the upper right corner of the display.
    • 3. Select Bluetooth®
    • 4. Select Add
    On the Phone

    • 1. Select Settings from the applications menu.
    • 2. Select Bluetooth®
    • 3. Ensure Bluetooth® is ON.
    • 4. Select your Multimedia System Name from the list.
    • 5. Enter the PIN or confirm the passkey shown on the vehicle display.
    • 6. Select OK or Pair if necessary.
    • After the initial pairing is completed, and if applicable to your multimedia system, enable messaging features by accessing the phone's Bluetooth® menu.
    • First, on your iphone select the "Information" symbol to the right of the Connected system and turn on "Show Notifications"
    • Make sure that “Allow Notifications” and “Show on Lock Screen” are enabled. This is found in Settings>Notifications>Messages on your Iphone
    • Then, disconnect/reconnect the phone using the multimedia system's controls.
