    Good morning...

I have spilled coffee, and I also have water stains from a water bottle that leaked, all over my passenger seat cushion.

I've used an automotive upholstery cleaner but that didn't get them out. I don;t want to use a brush on them as suggested online and by the cleaner's manufacturer because of the type of material used- the sport's seat fabric tends to pill and wear through if brushed vigorously. I had a "detailer" use a stiff brush on the left front seat once- the dealer paid for a new cover because you could almost see through where he was rubbing.

I'm looking for suggestions as to what you've had good experience using and doing. Money is tight, so please don't suggest I spend money on Wet Okole's or other seat coverings- not in the budget right now. I'm looking to gently and thoroughly clean these spots on my seats.

Thanks for your time and input! I appreciate it.

I detailed cars for a few years, these Tacoma seats are EXTREMELY difficult to get stains out because of the perforated material in the center of the seats. I would recommend taking your truck to a detail shop or dealer with a detail shop and have them use an extractor/shampooer to try to get it out. It shouldn't cost too much if you only have them do the one seat and it is probably your best bet at getting it out.

I would recommend buying something like Adam's carpet cleaner. I would take the seat out of the truck. Turn the seat so the part you are spraying is vertical, then vacuum up with a shop vac. The Adam's carpet cleaner doesn't sud up and I have found it will bring the stain to the surface. Had to do this on my wife's Camry seats after a Coke was spilled all over the rear seat. Keep in mind I went through quite a bit of product to do this but it worked perfectly. If you use a brush get one that is specially for interior. I have a couple from Adam's and they are much softer than the Walmart special.

First of all blot the spilled coffee immediately then mix1 teaspoon mild detergent,1 teaspoon white vinegar, and 1 quart warm water. Apply the solution to the spot, and let dry. Apply dry-cleaning fluid. Vacuum gently after the covering is dry. If its not helpful then its better to go for Eco friendly carpet cleaning services.
