Welcome to Berea where art's alive.

If you like arts and crafts, you're in luck. I live and work in Berea and my only qualm is that I have to drive 10 miles to the nearest liquor store. In all seriousness, it's not a bad location because you're not too far from a lot of places. Lexington is 30-45 minutes away, Louisville and Cincinnati are both within 2 hours away. London and Corbin are about 30-45 minutes away.

Yeah we've noticed art is everywhere here lol. We both work in Lexington so we wanted about half way between Lexington and London/Corbin so we chose here. I played some Golf here at Battlefield when i lived in Corbin so going to take advantage of that while living here. Maybe i'll see you driving around sometime. Only black Tacoma i've seen around besides in Richmond so far.

I'm pretty easy to spot, there aren't a lot of red 4x4 regular cabs.

I'm not much of a fisherman, so I'm not sure about good places but there is fishing at Lake Linville in Rockcastle County and Lake Reba in Richmond.

Lake Linville is the first Mount Vernon exit, the highway kind of goes over it.

Lake Reba is off the bypass in Richmond

I'm in Lex. everyday I have not seen the black Tacoma you speak of, but I do see a white one with a four to six inch lift almost daily headed the opposite way around new circle.

I was born in Lousville, but my folks moved to Fl before I was 2, so I'm pretty much a Cracker with Kentucky roots.

And no, Ky is not a Midwest state. It was a border state at best, with a great amount of Southern style and congeniality.

My wife was born in Richmond, my mother in law in Paint Lick, my dad from Dry Fork, moms from Austin-Tracy and my Uncle lives in Glasgow.

The one room schoolhouse my grandmother taught in is preserved in a park in Barren County by one of her friends, the founder of Houchins groceries.

On a visit where I recently spent some time in Pig (close to Mammoth Cave) I found a few different family cemeteries', the kind in the middle of pastures. The one that my great grandparents were in (who passed in the 50's) had the oldest and largest marker for a guy who came from Scotland in the late 1700s and passed in the 1820s.

So I guess my roots run deep.

I often envy those of you who are living there. Well, at least in the spring and fall. :D
