Since I've owned my '97 Taco, there's never been a latch attached so every now and then I have to close the half open fuel door. I FINALLY bought a replacement latch from a salvage yard yesterday. It came off a '98-00. I just don't know how it's supposed to be installed. I don't want to force anything then break the piece so I was wondering if anyone could post a video of a disassembly and reassembly. I'd really appreciate it.

    Here's my attempt.

Also, is the key only supposed to turn 1/8 of the circle (for lack of a better word) like mine, as opposed to 1/4?

    Here's what mine looks like
1/8th turn toward the front of the truck unlocks it.

    Here's some pictures:

Thanks a bunch!! :goingcrazy: That really helped. I guess I just needed a visual of how it looks assembled and a little intuition!
