I hear a lot of talk about gains from PCM up grades, but also hear that they have some dangerous down sides. Does anyone have any input on this subject or maybe know of someone who has installed one?

I have an 05 double cab with a stock 4.0L. It seems like most of the options have multiple modes like fuel economy or maximum torque. Has the MAF risen to the top of the heap?
I read some of the similar threads and saw where some one said the Jet was worthless.
I suspect it could be fairly easy to produce a black box unit with no real gains.
    Thanks for your feed back.

    Correct me if I'm wrong,
It seem's like there aren't likely to be significant gains with any of these MAF CAL units (or any other electronic hardware/software devices ) on a stock engine. They are more of an advantage when used after intake and exhaust modifications have been performed?
