Agreed. I like the looks of them now. Much more so with blacked out head lights.

    What about white headlights :p

I personally would be exrtremely happy with a stripped down simple truck (which is pretty much what I got). I hate the newer models losing simplicity and adding luxury and flair (See 2003+ 4runners).

Mine is a 4 banger, 4WD and stick. No power locks/windows and I love it!

    From the Fronty forum:

What say you about this quote? Just stirring the pot over here?

I own a Taco and am proud of it! I've also owned Nissans. They both have their pros and cons. I liked the pros of the Taco more than the pros of the Fronty. I think MOST here will agree on that. Just as the Fronties will agree similarly on their site.

    What he said^^^^

They just now have the 2nd gens about right and could for damnned sure do some more to address a few issues that bother me but meh?

The 1st gen was and still is the more durable piece but I'm thinking that has a bit to do with having motors that dont put out muich ummph and a simple non schniker doodled up cab and stuff.

Those old go 300,000 miles Toyota 4x4 were typically the 4 cyl variety that didnt produce enough [power to break or weasr anything out prematurely....

I had an 86' 4 Cyl reg cab back in the day and it couldnt hardly hold 70 MPH out on the Kansas freeways if I hit a hill....It was so gutless it relyed on gearing, lightweight and clearence to make its money off-road and was quite simply a turd on the road!

I cant see these 2nd gen glitzyed up Tacoma's doing the 300,000 mile dance like the simple simon underpowered 1st gen 4 bangers could....

Then again? Nah..Sounded good. I decided to actually buy my 09' rather than lease it as I wanted to do a few mods and wanted to pay it off and drive for a few years...But when mine hits 125-150K Max it for damn sure wont be mine anymore!

It was a 2000 SE 2 wheel drive, Crew Cab. I compared the 2 when looking for a new one and the Nissan could not compare price wise, especially when you compared what you were geting for your money. Bascially, I got everything in the TRD Sport package for $500 when compared to an equivalent Frontier.

So for the most part those guys like Tacos they just can afford one :D The Frontier isn’t a bad truck and I like the look but I like the look of the taco more. The reason why I went with the Taco is I’ve owned a few Toyotas and non have let me down. So far the Tacos have held up to my expectations.

Just stirring the pot over here?!? Do you not read the post before comenting? For one My Nissan has let me down Again since then. And IF YOU WOULD HAVE KEEPED READING you would have seen the begining of "them" hateing on me! I was the one who said MANY times, well guys they have complaints about things like arm rest to low, when it rains its a liitle loud in the cab, there engines tick. When we have issues like trany failurs, rear difs failures, sending units, timing gears whine, and so on, and so on.

I was saying how you guys may have it figured out and we (nissan guys) may have missed something. Don't try and call me out brfore you read the whole thing. I was TOTALY takeing your side, over there.

Plus I have done no pot sturing here. Nice to meet you, BTW!:crapstorm:

It would be nice if they made a long bed with the locker, but since they don't, and putting more than a gallan of milk in my bed is important to me, I went with a sport. The traction control my 09 has seems to work pretty well off road, maybe one day I'll put a locker in it.

I could be wrong. I've been wrong before, but I DID READ the whole thread. The quote I made above is post #46 on page 5. You only make three more posts on that thread; two on page 6(#57 and #60) and one on page 7(#64).

    #57 -
    #60 -
    #64 -
Unless my browser somehow doesn't allow me to see more than the 7 pages in that thread, no one was hating on you. I don't want to start a fight, I just didn't see how you were "TOTALY takeing your side, over there".

Welcome to TW. Now, go get one. :D
