Is this normal, 4 inches from 885xbillies

x2. I had the RCD billies on my 2006. They are the same as other 5100s for our trucks. I got them from downsouth motorsports couple years back and they came out cheaper than the regular 5100s and were the same thing.

 

2 things, as stated above.
Maybe wrong extended length shocks made for a lifted application.
Are you sure the circlip on the shock is indeed on the first, zero, setting?
Have you driven the truck much? How's it steer, alignment come out OK? Gotta get it aligned after any spring work. Might just setting out also.

 

It looks like it's on the right clip. Just ride it out and let it settle

Here's the two part numbers of the 5100 that are the exact same.

24-239370 (Bilstien #) & F4-BE5-C477-T1 (RCD #)

As soon as I find that pic I'll post it up. Spec wise everything is the same (rod end length, adjustment rings, travel, everything). Like I said if people don't believe me they can call RCD and ask.

Edit: per RDC there is a slight difference with valving but its not noticeable at all. I guess for Bilstien to make their own they needed to make them different in some way over the RCD 5100. This is because the shocks were originally designed for RCD but Bilstien wanted to sell them to under their own name.

Having a prerunner, access cab and new vs. old coils is where the lift is coming from. Hate to say it but 884 coils would have been the better choice

 

Sorry if someone already covered this already but when you install brand new coils and let the truck down off the jack it will sit very high as the coil has not settled or been broken in this is completely normal. Usually just taking it on a short drive and bouncing the front end over a speed bump repeatedly ( IE: roll slow to the top of the speed bump then let it " fall " off the speed bump ) will settle the coils rapidly. They may continue to settle even more for a couple of weeks as well. Definitely wait to get an alignment until they have settled or you are throwing money down the sewer.

Well that makes sense , you tell the OP not to assume the coil / shock assembly was assembled correctly , which basically is what people were suggesting in the beginning before any pics were posted , then agree with Buzz Tampon that all the beginning posts were garbage

Here's the deal, you say you got a 4" overall by lifting just the front, I'm betting if you do the rear, the front will drop a little just by dynamic physics example: By lifting/stiffening the rear susp theres going to be a "down force" on the front, plus you are prerunner so 4" isn't the deal killer it'd be if 4x4.. Any of that make sense ?
