    Hey guys-

So I have done quite a bit of research on this- but still can't find a clear answer.....

I was able to talk to Fabtech and they are going to take my 2015 Double Cab TRD Sport as part of their Suspension Development Program. Basically they are going to use my vehicle to model their 2014-2015 lift kits on and make sure the fit and finish is primo. The advantage is....I get to pick and keep whatever lift kit I want..for free....absolutely amazing.

Moving on- so obviously the clear delineation is which lift kit? I have been beat to death with the pros and cons of 3" vs 6" lifts....I am leaning towards the 3" lifts (seems the vehicle doesn't fall apart...or it doesn't require as much work afterwards to maintain i.e. drive shaft, vibration issues, excessive rubbing, etc). However for this program Fabtech has to install all their lifts, so they will be cutting the cross member to install the 6" lift for the fit process. I am not too worried about that because I have read that the actual replacement cross member is structurally more sound than the factory, however if I decide to go with only the 3" lift- what would they have to do to make that happen? Would they have to re-weld the old cross member back on? Is that going to be an issue? Is it going to be weaker?

I am comforted knowing that this is THE Fabtech guys installing THEIR lifts- so they must ABSOLUTELY KNOW what they are doing- like going straight to the source...so not really worried about shotty work- and so far they have been wonderful in working with and answering questions- but just wanted to get your opinion about this process / advice going one way or the other... my other thoughts with the 6" lift is that hell- i'm getting a free lift kit- why not go for the most expensive one and get the most out of it?

    Thanks for any thoughts-

If they install a 6 then yes they would have to reweld the section that was cut out. This shouldn't be a problem if done correctly. Since there shocks are shit they should grab something like Icon and reverse enginee them then take all the other 6" lifts on the market and take and use only the best parts and make them better. This is only a suggestion but if there seriouse about making a good kit its not that difficult.

You lucky bastard.. If you just want a sick looking truck the 6 is the way to go.. I have the 6 inch fabtech kit and I like it.. If i was gonna lift my truck 3 inches I wouldnt go this route.. If you want to off road you are looking at the wrong lift my friend.. If i was in your situation i would do it! But I like DB lift kits.. alot of guys dont like them..
