I've got this light bar I never got around to installing on the FJ before I sold it - I was thinking of adding it to the rear of the Tacoma for some additional light when backing up.

Best option would be to run a switch somewhere to turn it on and off when needed, but an easy option might be to tap the hot wire to the back up lights, so it comes on when the back up lights are on.

My question, do you think the existing wiring/fuse for the back up lights would enable me to tap into it to run a 6W LED light?

If you have the tow package, I would tap into the trailer wiring rather than your bulb housing. If the light is 6 watts, then it only draws 1/2 amp.

I do have the tow package, so I could tap into that - good advice. I'd just need a switch for it then I suspect. My knowledge of electrical wiring is poor at best.

Busted CV boots and lots of squeaks.
super easy to do. I added two to the back of mine. There is a wire diagram on the flap for the 7 pin connector that will help when you tap the wire.

If you wire it to the tow package reverse lights, then you dont need a swtich since it will turn on automaticly when in reverse. If you want it to turn on automaticaly and also manualy any time, then you need to run a second wire from the battery with a diode to keep from powering your reverse circuit when you apply power to the light with the switch.
