New Wheels

I am about to order some black Moto Metal 951's and was wondering which ones to get. I'm getting the 17x9 and need to know what offset and backspacing i should get. I've heard a few different things and want some opinions. My truck is stock but is getting a 3 in. lift soon. Thanks for any help.

 

I have the 951's 17x9 but no clue what the backspace is, I didnt know they made different backspace on the same size rim.

 

They do...most of what I've seen is 4.5 or 5.5 backspace and -12 mm offset. Not exactly sure what the offset is for. Was told today that
-12mm offset would set the wheels out too far and i should go with -6mm.

 

Ive heard that everyone is running 4.5 backspace. Thats what i just ordered.

Unfortunately, I also have been looking into doing these wheels to find out that they dont offer the 951s in a 17x9 in any other offset besides -12mm. I am accually stepping down to a 16x8. Lil cheaper (wheels and tires) and they are offered in a 0 offset.

Not to jack your thread, anybody know where i can get a good deal on these wheels. They have been goin on fleebay for around 525-550 shipped in 16x8's

 

the offset you need to achieve 4.5 backspacing vary depending on the width of the rim you are getting. I used this backspacing calculator.http://www.autolounge.net/calculators/tirespacing.html
So you would need a -12 offset

 

I've got a buddy who owns a wheel shop and he was looking at them today and said there was some 17x9 with a -6 offset. That's what he recommended cause he said the -12mm would make them set out too far...not that he couldn't be wrong but?

 

I looked around for a while and it seemed that most people where doing the 4.5 backspacing, but than again most are wanting them to stick out more than stock so that might not be what ur looking for
