This is my first post. I have worked for 15 years in the courier business with the same 2000 Tacoma. It now has 905,673 miles on it with the original engine, trans and differential. It still gets 25 mpg and passed its last smog test with no problem. My friends say I should let people know about it. There is a rumor that Toyota may give me a new one if I hit a million miles. I would appreciate anyone who knows how to actually pull that off.

    I love rumors.

Why wouldn't you start by calling Toyota USA and telling them what's up, and ask if you can pick up your new wheels at 000,001, or if they want it a bit before so they can film the rollover from 999,999? IE presume the gift.

Here's my bet. They 'may' be interested in the story if you can provide heavy duty documentation on your maintenance and mileage. You 'may' be offered a deep discount on your next truck purchase. Maybe actual cost. In exchange for advertising rights with your story/truck. Either of which could actually be worth quite a bit of taxable dollars (income)

But I'll toss a diet Coke down that the answer won't be a free truck. :(

    first, welcome to TW

second, why even get rid of the truck? if it runs and gets 25 mpg you're still better off than 80% of most new Tacomas :D

grats on the mileage and yes, lets see some pics of the truck and ODO please. keep in mind a rebuild voids any claims :)

surprised no one did this so I'll do the obligatory
