Replaced my valve cover gaskets last weekend and when I went to take the plug wires out, they were barely hard to take off. An ant could have pulled it out. So I replaced the grommets as those were trashed. Went and finished the replacement on everything, and it was running so smooth I thought I was in a new truck. A few days later, I started getting a vibration while sitting at lights I had before the replacement. I assumed the spark plugs would cause that as I don't have a CEL for anything. Maybe they're just worn out? But now, the plug wires are still somewhat easy to pull out. Shouldn't they have a little resistance to them? Help please! Getting annoyed with the vibrations.

    Could be a vacuum leak.

Wouldn't that cause a CEL to come on?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
    Buy new wires.

Were the coil packs just as easy to pull off, or just the plug wires on the driver's side? If you aren't getting good contact with the plugs, you would notice a definite misfire, and it'd probably throw a CEL. I'm guessing there is something else going on, like a vacuum leak as suggested above. Did you get everything torqued down correctly after doing the valve cover gaskets?

Yes its just the ones on the driver's side. Passenger side seemed fine when removing for the valve cover gasket replacement. Everything is torqued down as well. I was going to order NGK plug wires and put in some Toyota spark plugs. Would I need to get the NGK plug in coil boots as well or could I leave those alone?

Buy OEM plugs, make sure they are gapped correctly.
    Buy the NGK wires.
Made a world of difference for my truck. I used to get the "shimmy" at idle too but when it's gone now.

At the time I changed my plugs and wires I also cleaned my throttle body, IAC valve and MAF sensor.

    Try that too.

So I dont need to get the boots that go with the coil packs? Just the wires for the driver's side that also connect to the passenger side? Throttle body and IAC were cleaned while everything was apart for the VCG replacement
