Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I love my auto, I love my 3.4 V6, I love everything about my first gen! It's everything I've ever wanted, and I've had both and like both but the first gen is just more my type. If it weren't for the crappy frames in these trucks, I think Tacoma would be the top dog in all around quality compared to all trucks. My interior still looks and feels new, it drives and shifts smooth as butter.

Taking it on a 600 mile road trip this weekend and am really stoked!

No complaints here. Gets moderately thrashed every weekend in the hunting woods but come Monday....she's rolling down the highway like new. Fine piece of truck.

My transmission is fine. The only annoying thing is when I want to downshift a couple of gears, but that's why there is Overdrive.

    nothing cool
All my previous vehicles were MT until i bought my Tacoma. So i cant really compare it to a " great" automatic. But i like it. And i was getting sick of shifting gears driving around in the city. But im also getting old and lazy.

I love my Tacoma also. I have had other trucks (Dodge, Chevy and Nissan) and I have only felt more than "this is just a truck that gets the job done" for my Tacoma's and 92 Toyota Pickup. I have the 6spd and love the personality my Tacoma has. No vehicle is perfect in every way and there will always be nay sayers. OP I am glad that you love your truck, keep lovin it and when you don't, get another truck that strikes your fancy...Like another Tacoma...:D

Had an '02 4x4 AC TRD for several years, and pretty much felt the same way. It was an auto. Its only weirdness was the first few shifts into third gear when cold would take longer, then fine after that. Wouldn't mind still having that truck, but the room and power of my '13 makes me not miss it.

I have a 4 sp auto in mine and I love it. Shifts smoothly and doesn't hunt. Plenty of foward gears. Had the same tranny in my 03. Bullet proof and reliable.
