TRD Pro & TX Baja OFFICIAL Thread...

So picked up my TRD Pro today...! I am super stoked on it. I keep liking the inferno more and more. I also found out that my Pro came with the towing package not just the hitch. I'll be posting some pictures here and updating my build thread with the new Pro and my plans on it.

I am happy with the turnout on the thread. Happy to see 3 pages with awesome looking Pros and Bajas without a single hate post! Lets keep it coming.

 

Yes, actually both rear shocks were replaced twice under warranty, same issue all 4 times, fluid on the piston tube with a clanking and banging sound. Dealer was great, however could not pinpoint the actual issue or cause. This last pair has been good knock on wood! Lol

After a bit of running around the oil field in the spring.



I have an aluminum plate bumper and IFS skid on the way.

I added the Leer Topper, WeatherTech floor liners front and rear, a bug shield, Toyota nerf bars, Redline Hood Struts, and a 20" LED light bar behind the grill. Been pretty happy with everything but the power, and the fuel economy.

 

Yes, you can open and close the cover without the tailgate down. It locks up and comes with keys.

 

Thanks for all the pic's. Very nice looking trucks. I really like the looks of both . My question is dos Toyota use the same UCA and front end other then the coils ? Just wondering how they do that and not have any issues with alignment .

 

1st day taking my Pro for a mild off road test drive! Took off the tube steps off and order my new tonneau cover. Went with the Undercover SE.

 

Hey man, Same UCA as other Tacomas. Not just coils they come with bigger shocks too. Although, front end is lifted it's only leveled so that's how they don't have any alignment issues in my opinion. From what I've read on here is that you only need aftermarket UCA if you go higher than 2.5" of lift. I think both the baja and the pro have 1.75"-2" of lift. Hope this helps.

 

I'm pissed that Toyota didn't put 265/75/16 on the Baja and TRD Pro, and also the fact that they even skimmed on the spare tire by going with the steel rim with Rugged Trail instead of the AT K/O.

The F/J Trail Team edition got 5 TRD wheels with 265/75. After signing the paperwork for the Baja, I saw a blue FJ Trail Team in the showroom. I came that close to cancelling the transaction and get that FJ instead. It was beautiful, but the rear suicide doors was a deal breaker for me.

 

You're right about the non-matching spare, WTF Toyota, atleast give me the same tire.

Mine sitting on the dealer lot and then in my driveway. Tires not flipped when I took the first pic on the dealers lot.

 

Looks better with the raised white letters out. I'm not sure how they were reversed at the dealer unless they did that, all the Baja's I see including mine had the rwl's out.

 

Given that the reversed pic is with the truck in his driveway, I would assume he preferred the RWLs on the inside and had the dealer do the swap before he headed home.

I prefer the RWLs on the outside as well, but too each his own. If that's the way he likes it, more power to him.

 

Oh, my bad. I was looking at the picture on my phone. Still think it looks better out. LOL

 

Pros use stock front end parts with the exception of struts that are 1.75-2" longer and give about 1" more front wheel travel

I absolutely love this truck. I have had many lifted vehicles and none of them drove as nice as this truck on the road. Off road is just as fun.

I can't decide if I want to do the super charger upgrade or not.

VIRDOC, That's one good looking Baja!.. I like what you have done with it. I agree, After I lifted my last tacoma it never drove the same. There is something to say for a factory upgraded vehicle. I love the way my pro drives on and off road. Thanks for the pictures...!
