Hey everyone, just wanted to share a few pics of my latest creation for my own rig. Decided a plate bumper wasn't fitting my style the best since I don't really off-road this truck real hard, I have two other Toyotas built for that! Ive always liked the way the prerunner/Baja style bumpers look on the tacomas so I figured I would take my time and build something special for myself.

Its not 100% finished, but very close in these pics. I still have to mount the AVEC 20" optic series bar behind the opening in the front aluminum skidplate. also probly going to add a couple 3x3 LEDs under the main tube of the bumper to light up the ditches. I took my time and TIG welded some of the more visible joints and spent a lot of time on the radius cut main upright brackets, so I decided to clear coat it instead of regular paint. I really like being able to see the raw steel!

If I get enough interest, then I could start producing them!

I didn't really intend it to be a feeler thread, just wanted to show some pics of my latest project. But it may turn into that if I get a lot of serious interest

It looks to be a nice alternative to a full plate bumper, if you have production rumblings, please keep this thread updated :D

It uses the three studs on each side plus two tabs bolting through the front lower frame crossmember where the skidplate bolts on, and there are also two 1/2" bolts going through the frame horn below the three studs on each side. So 10 bolts total!

it is a pretty stout setup! especially for a tube style bumper. The tow hooks are made of 3/8" plate that go through the upright supports and weld directly to the frame plate bracket. Then I welded 1/4" plate washers to the sides of the 3/8" plate where the d-rings bolt through to beef up the hole. I will post some pics of that tomorrow.

got some nice weather today so I washed the Tacoma and took a few pics. I finally got the AVEC 20" optic series lightbar mounted and wired.
