Hey guys I'm new to tacoma world and I have a quick wueation on something I have been looking into for awhile now , I was planning on taking all the emblems off of my 2001 Toyota prerunner but since the paint is so old im afraid after I take them off it will leave letter stains on te paint behind the emblem ? Is there anyway of getting around this or get rid of the letter stains after removal of the emblems ?! Please let me know thank you !

Polish and wax. The paint will look like brand new so you will need to polish the surrounding area to restore the finish. Now is a good time to invest in a nice polisher if you don't have one all ready. Porter Cable 7424 is a good starter and is dummy proof.

I had a 2001 impreza I took the emblems off of and did not experience this, maybe the paint is different. I am not encouraging you or saying there won't be stains. Just sharing my own experience. I used a heat gun and then goo gone... was fine

There's no way around that, once you remove the emblem with heat and a fishing line or floss there'll be some old adhesive still left. Use some goo gone or whatever that'll come off and then the "stain" will be there.
Either put a new emblem or decal over that or if you're wanting a clean, plain look you're gonna have to sand it and level it with a microfiber cutting pad then polish it out. That's my only suggestion. It's old man, it's gonna be there.

A lot will depend on the color of your truck. Lighter colors won't show as bad. If you have kept up with detailing your truck it won't be bad.

Well it's a 2001. You got sun, debris, and all that passing through underneath the adhesive. Despite what color the truck is you better hope it's white. I still have the remnants of a Jesus fish I never got to removing on my tailgate.

I like the clean look of a debaged truck. I know what kind of truck I have. I don't need 26 tacky plastic chrome stickers telling me its a Toyota Tacoma. Its fairly obvious what it is.. LoL.
