Hey guys, im planning to get or make a plate bumper for my 1st gen. Im wanting to retrofit my truck in the future and I want to be able to see like its day in front of me. So I was thinking of:
    http://www.amazon.com/KC-HiLiTES-120-SlimLite-Chrome/dp/B0002CO9KS
Kc slim light 6 inch long range
    and
    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D8RYGOI/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
20 inch double row led light bar to fill up the space from the kc's.

Or I was searching around an remembered okledlight bars. He has a pair of 4inch hid 55w spot beam lights for $130.

So what do you guys think?
kc slimlite 6 inch long range with 20" or so light bar
    or
4 inch 55w hid for less $$ with a 20" or so light bar
    or
Nothing / no light bar needed with Fx-r retrofit.

And I have no clue about the retrofit. Will I even need the light bar or any extra lights for that matter with them. I was thinking the fxr kit from theretrosolutions.

For $30 more you can get these led cannons. Pm Chas of MRT on here and he may give you a discount, or maybe at least free shipping. Tell him I referred you. They are AWESOME lights. And will put out a shit ton more light than the kc's. Also have a bunch of different covers for them too. With these, you probly won't even need a light bar. But that one you listed would be ok, I would find one in all flood, since you're getting spot lights already. Or maybe some smaller lights mounted on ditch brackets in flood. You want to maximize your spread and go for a combination of lights to get that affect. If you mount the floods higher and out more, you'll get a far better spread rather than mounting them in close proximity to each other. Just my .02... But seriously, you should get the led cannons. You won't regret it.

Edit: oops here's the cannons: (967feet x 50 feet usable light)

Edit2: I would also suggest, even though they're awesome, not to go the fxr projector route. I would go for the minis. easier to retro, and puts out a ton of light too. Since your getting a ton of aux light, you're thinking could be considered to be backwards. As in retro would be unnecessary with the other lights you have. I wouldn't say it's unnecessary myself, as a retro is always beneficial, but some might say it is. And they look f'ing sick. But yeah, save some money and do the minis, i say. They also have a wider spread on high beams than fxr's, but certainly not as much distance, but that's what your spot lights are for.

Also regarding your plate bumper, depending on which one it is, you might mount some flood lights towards the outside edge if there's a spot for them, or make a spot yourself. I have 2 8" flood bars with the 10 watt leds mounted in my stock turn signal areas, which in turn are angled out a bit already from the curvature of the bumper valance, and it's perfect for lighting up the sides.

Thanks, I will read up some more on everything.

Edit: well, if the fx-r's might shine the same or close distance to the mrt's. Might just get the Fxr's and get a combo light bar to make it all whiter. I just want the bumper to be there for more than looks, and maybe a deer or 2 I guess.

So now: fx-r with combo led bar
    or
mini's and mrt with flood ebay style duallys possibly?

Which is the best for the 1st gen retro fit. I want a halo with it and good distance so I could possibly point the mrts to the side of the rd so the big distance in front is lit up. I don't offroad, I just want to have some kick a** high beams and be able to spot deer far away.

And the minis is that h1 or d2s?

Might be cheaper to do the Fx-r's and have some lights to shine on the shoulder.

Well I can't really say how far the fxr throws compared to the cannons. But I'm pretty sure the cannons are gonna throw further. And they do have a kind of 'dual' function. They have the tight spot pencil beam, but also have a wide, yet less intense, flood beam from the reflector at the same time. Idk. It's hard to say what'd suit you best. If all you're looking for is high beams tho, go with projectors and the cannons. Nothing else. That'll be a shit ton of light thrown down range.the fxrs have a nice and wide low beam for side lighting already, just doesn't go high except narrowly down the road. The cannons will provide a bit of light to the sides as well, since the spill from the reflector adds as a bonus for a bit of side flood lighting too. It's hard to explain so I'll post a video comparing some of the smaller ditch type lights, as well as the cannon. The pictures he shows at the end don't seem to be the best representation, because they are a lot brighter than they appear in his pics... Just YouTube more vids. Idk what else I can suggest. Except maybe some smaller ditch floods later on and you'll be golden. I wouldn't even get an led bar for what you want though. They just don't throw far enough. I have all 10watt leds which are supposed to be the longest throwing reflectors in an led bar, and they still don't throw far enough for me.

Would've like to see the D2 against the Cannon. They're both in the same park. Weird.

Thanks. So fx-r's and cannons on the list.
Do the fx-r's throw light towards the middle like the low beams? I just want to be able to see down the rd and be able to see something in the rd.
Will the 25w cannons be bright enough? I could get those 4" 55ws stated above for more light needed whether it be downrange to the sides or fill in the middle?

The projectors can go in stock housings right?
