So looking to mount a light bar on my 1st gen... liking the idea of the light above the windshield the most based on the limited options available - but concerned about how much wind noise is generated while driving on the freeway... thoughts????

I just installed a 42" bar last night. About to head into work (via freeway). I'll report back.

Not bad. Speeds averaging around 65, took it up to about 70-72 just to see how that did. It was noticeable but not annoying. Even a little bit of volume on the radio covered it.

All depends how you mount it. Some experience no noise. Others experience the 'whistle', which is an easy fix btw. I had the whistle, but not really any noticeable noise from the wind resistance itself...

Reporting back after living with the lightbar for a couple weeks. Verdict: LOVE IT. Almost no wind noise, even in some heavy crosswinds (30-40mph gusts).

I did have to replace the factory wire coming from the lightbar due to its thickness. It was pushing out on the door seal too much so I wasn't able to get a good tight seal around the top of the door so it was making a lot of noise, especially in crosswinds. Once I replaced that with my own 10 gauge wiring I've had 0 issues.

mine is pretty snug to my windshield. i get the whistle even at low speeds, any faster and its barely noticeable. I have the relentless mounts with radial 50"
