just curious why that headunit, i don't have any experience with dual, but my opinion is that they are walmart brand. I would personally stick with pioneer or kenwood (even though these can be found at walmart too), but that's just my opinion, everything else looks good imo

 

sweet, yeah me personally I couldn't give two shits what the head unit looked like lol, as long as it works and has an aux and USB port so I can put my tunes on a thumb drive....im perfectly fine. no need for the fancy expensive stuff imo, I mean I know they are good quality, but I dont need something that expensive, as long as it works and sounds good....im good

and the amp, i got it free from my roommate, so that saves me $100 and he was saying I can run everything with it and later if I want to up the power of the subs and such, I can upgrade the amp, until then I can run the subs at a lower power, which im perfectly fine with

Cool deal. I've already upgraded my head unit & have been thinking about putting kickers in the doors. I want to run the CS series 6.5" in the rear & 6x9 components in the front .

save yourself the headache and get a better head unit. You want one that at min will have higher watt RMS or else you won't be pushing your door speakers very loud to keep up with the sub (unless you are planning on hooking an amp to the door speakers too) You gotta think the magnets on those kicker speakers are a lot bigger compared to stock door speakers (bigger mags = more watts needed) I personally always look for a head unit with AT MIN 18 watt RMS ( I usually go with 20 watt to be safe). Also make sure you get one that has a controllable output for the rear aka sub output so you can manually control the sub via headunit or else with some of the cheaper head units every time you want bass you turn up bass but that also turns up the bass to your door speakers making them sound like crap vs just turning up the bass to your sub. You can also do this on some amps but Idk what features you are getting on that amp.

Make sure the door speakers are shallow mount (there is a certain depth they have to be to find in the doors I can't remember what).

I have a similar box and cut one side off just to have one single 10" sub and sold the other half and amp rack on CL I still wanted some storage space behind the passenger side.

throw some new tweeters in there...might as well if you are taking it all apart and replacing everything...I put titanium Lanzar tweeters in my 2011 when I had it. Haven't messed with this 2012 yet.

This is the simple head unit I have...wanted something that looked stock since so many get broken into for the head units. Had all the features I was looking for w/ equilizer and all, plus was only $98 on ebay back in 2013

I used something similar with the 6x9 conversion had polk audio all around. Love that they are marine grade and have had them in several vehicles, great quality too.

main thing is...I'm not looking for a double din touch screen radio...ive never been into those, I like the single DIN radios with a USB port. im not looking for fancy...I want something that's simple and works. thats why I chose the one I did, and I dont want to spend double the $$$ just for that one...

and those speakers should fit, those were under the specs I chose for my double cab non JBL taco
