It seems we have a lot of traffic looking for advice on pricing and condition 1st Gens. Would it be crazy to have a subforum to help those members having trouble finding a clean fair priced Tacoma? I know there are several locally that are priced well below what I have seen some listed for in other parts of the country, even if you factor in a $700 - $1000 freight bill.

I know I'd be willing to help another member by being the eyes and ears on this end if they found a vehicle locally and I am pretty sure there are lots of others here willing to do the same.

Being local to an area, you are more familiar with local dealers that may not use Craigslist or Ebay, but have a couple of Tacomas on the lot occasionally.

The only issue I see is getting the right traffic in the subforum, those seriously looking and ready to commit.

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I just saw a black double cab just like mine on a lot out of town yesterday, was too dark but maybe if it's there next time I go back I'll get a picture or two of it and then the info on the used car lot it's at. My old lady saw it and was like "oohhh baby, you should buy that for me so we can have matching trucks!"

I would in a heartbeat if I had the money, get her out of that junkpile 1998 Ford Explorer of hers and into something reliable..

Well, I went and got pictures of said double cab today, and it turned out to be dark green, not black. Here you go if anyone's interested! It's a 2002 double cab prerunner which is a rare sight here in 4x4 country.

Only in Montana do you find trucks on used car lots with empty beer cans in the bed!

And lastly, here's the name and number of the lot that has the truck. It is located in Billings, Montana so if you are calling out of state, you will need to add area code 406 before dialing the rest of the number. Overall, it looks like a really clean first gen double cab, unsure of the mileage but the tires looked new and there were no rips or stains I could see in the interior.
