Don't know if it's related to what takes place on my 95, but, according to my FSM and my diagnosis so far, it's a fuel pressure problem, manual says that when the motor is hot, the computer picks up on the temp and increases fuel pressure to over come the "vapor" lock condition that exist in the fuel rail. So on mine, it could have been the fuel pressure reg., but that checks good, the vsv for the reg., checks out good also but is not coming on, it's not getting the signal from the ecm, that is my senario anyway.

I have heard of that before on the first gens. I have also heard the VSV is a possible problem child. The fuel pump comes to mind as well. Without taking a look at it I cannot do much but tell you potential causes. Good luck.

Yep, like I said my vsv checked out good, but wasn't being turned on by the ecm, I can jump the vsv with 12volts, and it'll crank right up like a little man,, I hoping it's a ground problem instead of ecm.

Notice any performance issues when it is running? Fuel economy problems, lack of power? I might look at the mass air flow sensor and your connections between the air cleaner and intake manifold..

Truck runs great, good economy or good enough for me, about 19 to 20 hand calculated, the problem is in the fuel delivery, almost positive it's going to be a ground issue or the ECM.

It starts correctly now, thanks to the best dealer tech ever.
Hey there, I just noticed this thread and wondered if you ever found out what the cause of your issue was?

Pulldo, did you ever figure your hot start issue out?

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
My truck does this sometimes, but I think it's a timing issue by the way it acts. Timing belt replacement will be done on mine over the summer for sure.
