Help a noob with some mild lift questions

    So, I've got an 04 SR5 Tacoma, extra cab. I have the idea of lightly modifying it in a way that sort of looks like a factory off-road package they should have made - if you catch my drift. I've already gone up a size in tire (to 265/75r16) but would like to add a mild lift and eventually some bumpers and graphics. For the lift, I'm thinking somewhere around two inches.

    I'm thinking of getting some Billy 5100's and setting them to 1.25 and doing a 1" add-a-leaf in the rear. (I'd like to have the truck sit mostly level, but with just a little rake since I have a topper and sometimes haul a a bunch of camp gear). Does that sound about right?

    Truth be told, I'd rather do 2.5 and maybe a 2" AAL, but I'm worried about driveline vibes, so I'm thinking that's a gamble. Plus, I don't want to cause too much wear on the CV's. Opinions there?

    If I go this route, would I just need new shocks in the front or would I need to replace all four? If I replace all four, would the back shocks be set on the same setting as the fronts or do the backs not adjust?

    Now, if I bolt on the 5100's, even at 2.5 let's say, would I need to extend or modify anything else about the truck? Also, Is there a preferred place to buy the parts?

    Alternately, a guy was telling me I could go with just taller springs in the front, either an AAL or a block in the rear and run stock shocks. The truck only has 95k on the clock and I don't think anything is worn out yet, so that doesn't sound unreasonable.

    Anyway, after searching the forum until my eyes hurt, I thought, being new to Tacoma's, I'd better check with you all before I go and start buying stuff.

    Any help you can give would be appreciated!

    Dang, guess I asked too much at once?

    I've been searching like crazy, trying to figure stuff out. I guess when you have this much of a wealth of info, it's easy to get confused.

    For the rear, I think the best bang for the buck, is a 1.5" to 2" progressive AAL.
    To maintain a decent ride, the new leaves should be the same thickness as the stock leaves. Wheelers is my choice. At the same time, replace the rear flexible brake line with a SS extended line.

    If you are actually going to do some off-roading, and flexing the rear suspension, you should get longer rear shocks, as well (like Billie 5125's).

    This is what I have done and am very happy with it.
