My heart was totally broke this morning when I put the first scratch in my new tacoma. I was putting my truck in the garage when I put the garage door down and heard the scratch. My truck is a DCLB so it just fits in my garage. It usually isn't a problem, but I was only about 1/8" to far forward that caused the garage door to hit. I think it can be fixed with some touch up paint. Terrible day ......

That sucks, but hey, you got your first scratch out of the way. :)

What we say around here is "pics or it didn't happen". ;)

I feel your pain. My garage has my other pride and joy, My Harley, sitting in front of my truck for the winter, with mere inches before I either hit the bike, or the door comes down on the rear end. What I did was place a large rubber truck wheel chock where I want the Taco to stop. When I hit the chock, I can safely close the door and I'm also safely away from the bike. Something I also did for my wife a few years ago was hang a tennis ball on heavy fishing line from the ceiling. When her windshield hit the ball, she stops. Sorry about your scratch. It may not be as bad as you think?

Lol. That's nothing. My first scratch was coming back front the bar. Instead of backing out of the parking spot, I decided to jump the curb and drive through the grass. I didn't realize how far of a drop was on the other end and smashed the transmission skid plate all the way up against the trans, then my hitch hit and actually curled up the end where the tow chains attach. Needless to say, I'm I the market for a lift kit and armor plates underneath..... Definitely not going to quit doing dumb things.

I have a few scratches on my '14 already, luckily they're all on the black, plastic flares so it doesn't bother me as much.

I recommend hanging a tennis ball on a string from your ceiling so the it just barely touches your window when you're in the correct position. This is how I used to park my 4-door F150 in the garage. Only had about 3 inches front and rear but that made it easy.

It's a truck, not a sports/collector car that you do baby sitting and buffing it all day on your weekend/holidays :)! Hope that makes you feel a little better.

At least you caused it, my first one was on day 2 when I watched a kid kick his door open into my car

    Some stuff...
My first came at the hands of some lazy son-of-a-bitch that didn't corral their cart on a windy day at the grocery store. Walked out of the store to see the wind catch the cart and carry it across the parking lot at high speed eventually smacking into my rig. So I got my first dent and scratch all in one shot. :(

    I know the feeling...

I got up close and personal with a sideways t-post out on my buddy's land one day after sundown. I just want to fill the scratches in the metal to keep them from rusting/chipping more. Fortunately the rear fender flare took the brute of the damage, unfortunately the rear fender flare costs $300 + paint.
