After doing an extreme amount of reading here on TW, I think I want to shoot for a 2" lift on my Taco (or as close as I can get). I feel like that's the right balance between looks, performance and cost.

Originally, I was thinking some 5100's in the front set at 1.25 with a 1/4" top plate, with either a 1.5" or 2" AAL in the rear.

I'm a little unsure on top plates, I sort of equate them with spacer lifts and we all know how those are. So, I was wondering if anyone got 2" with springs and if so, which ones. Any other ideas how to get 2" of lift without sacrificing ride quality (too much)?

I was doing some research on this just the other week. You can get about 2" lift with OME 884 coils and Toytec AAL [provided you don't have extra weight in the front].

    I don't know about the 5100's.
OME 881's and the nitrocharger shocks up front will give 2".
A new spring pack with a leaf removed will prolly be right at 2" or a bit more in the rear. I think this would give you what you are looking for.

That looks like an awesome lift, but man, that's a little more than I was hoping to spend. Looks like a set of 5100's and a AAL could be have for between 400-500 bucks, but of course, that gives me either 2.5 or 1.25 which is more or less than I want...

Nice name, BTW. The 'Truckers (when they had Isbell) were one of my favorite bands. A real three guitar, three singer, three songwriter, powerhouse.

That's sort of what I was thinking, but I have a potentially stupid question...

Could one use taller springs and/or an AAL with the stock shocks? I know, I know, while you've got it all apart you might as well replace everything, but it seems like that could be a cheap way to do it, providing the shocks aren't shot to start with. Just something that crossed my mind...

Yeah OP. You hit the nail on the head.

    Good luck with your purchase.
