In attempt to make my 1 inch body lift unnoticeable I have made some gap guards out of 1/8 inch steel plate. They're shaped and ready to go on but I can't decide what would be best. To weld them with 2 or 3 one inch welds or to drill holes in the frame for bolts. Thoughts?

Keep in mind that the area I'm going to either weld or drill is the rear C frame section.

Personally I hesitate to do anything to the frames of these trucks that may create a place for rust to gather. If rust isn't an issue where you are then either will work fine.

If they are just cover-up plates for looks, just spot tack weld them in place so you can knock them off later if needed.

Well that was my original plan. But someone mentioned that vibrations would break them loose.

Looks too dsmn cheap and half assed. That's why I went through all the trouble to cut, grind, weld, and shape steel plate to cover the gap.
