Rear shock location

Hey Y'all,

As far as I understand it. The rear shock location was changed just a bit on the 2015 model. Because of that, the rear shocks have some interference between them and the axle/spring. No issues with any other components though.


^^^^ Anybody have any input on this? This was spoken about by YotaDan in another thread about OME rear shocks on a 2015 Tacoma

 

Can you take a picture and post it. Then we'll know for sure.

 

Toyota didn't change the position of the rear shock. It wouldn't make sense one bit considering they are coming out with a new Tacoma next year.

From my understanding there are not issues if the shocks you are running are a Body Up, Shaft Down type (monotube). But the OME shocks have the Body Down, and so are having some clearance issues. At this time there is no "Fix".

 

probably the mount on the axle changed a little bit. I know my OME N182's are REAL close to the shock mounts on the axle at full droop. I bet the brackets have a little more to the gusset and thus would hit the body of the shock. That stated you could probably grind the shock mounds just a bit to clearance them real easy.

 

But my Icon's should be fine you would think right?
