Silly question, my engine has to be replaced and I have purchased an engine from a truck with a std tranny. I have an auto and someone mentioned there may be issues with the computer etc. Anyone know for sure?

    Thanks!

It'll be fine. An issue will pop up when you swap trans (auto to manual and vise versa)

    Thanks to you both.
Lucario Runner - That's what I thought too.

Rock Lobster - As for the ECU, when my motor blew the code that was also thrown said the ECU had a fault. So I would rather keep the newer ECU if possible. Do you know the ECU would need to be changed?

Pretty sure the ecu is different for auto vs manual.

The ECU for a manual is programmed differently. You would need to have the ECU that matches the engine and transmission combination that is in the truck.
