Went with the 3" OME Suspension lift and replaced the rear leaf spring with Dakar's... Tires: 285/70R17 (tire height at 32.8") with wheels that gave me 4.75 backspacing. Did remove the small mud flaps that are in front of the front tires--not sure the purpose of these--and did some minor trimming on the regular size mud flaps that are behind the front tires. Turned hard in either direction there is no rubbing. But, every now and then if I turn into a drive way too quickly I get rubbing just under the fender...

Any suggestions to perhaps fix the rubbing issue? Or is it normal?

Reply from member: Getting caster back right might help. Did the OME include UCAs? If not then those are what will get your caster back right. Fix rub and not drive all twitchy and pulling on uneven surfaces. Caster out will not wear tires but will grate on your nerves.

Has anyone experienced this issue? And if so, did/how did you correct it? I have my stock UCA's and thinking about adding some LR UCA's.

So I ended up getting Camburg Uniball UCA's, installed and everything. Drive feels so much better, but got more rubbing than before... I'm good when turning into a drive way a little faster than normal, but now backing up I guess on certain angles it rubs. I ended up having to take the mud flaps off completely and I think the guys at Camburg did some trimming when I returned it. Took it off road and just rubs a lot when turning taking bumps. So do I need to trim more, get it realigned, tires too big?

It's rubbing more because the UCAs moved the top of the strut assembly towards the rear of the vehicle, which reduced tire clearance. You could have the alignment shop add more caster using the factory alignment bolts. This will increase clearance by moving the bottom of the strut assembly forward. Other than that, you'll need to trim, get adjustable UCAs, or go with a smaller tire.

Would the factory alignment bolts work with the new UCA's that I have on there now? Do you think same type of tire but one size smaller, like an inch smaller..., would that give me the clearance I might need?

Conclusion: I ended up doing a cab mount chop. BA Mufflers handled that for me at it looks pretty awesome, "looks like Toyota did it." Don't have to slow much now when entering a driveway.
