I remember the days when you took your vehicle in for an oil change a lube was done, as well.

After having just had my 25k ToyotaCare service done it just occurred to me, for the first time, whether or not a lube job is done when other services are performed. I've noticed it doesn't indicate it on the TC site, nor does it show on the paperwork indicating services performed. Anybody know?

My dealer also lubed/greased the driveshaft zerks for me each oil change during the Toyota care period....no charge. I did have to ask though.

All they are doing is oil / filter n tire rotation

    do yourself a favor

45 bucks gets your 10 filters and 10 drain plug gaskets

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-909...Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f3ccef949&vxp=mtr

And change the oil yourself..... WAY WAY to many horror stories of dealers messing up trucks over a simple oil change.

I watched dealer almost forget to put oil in my truck.... only saving grace is i was standing right next to it on the lift as they were doing the work.

Is that eBay auction a good deal? Are the Toyota oil filters better than say, Wix?

The Toyota filters shown at the ebay site are about $2 cheaper per unit than what I pay from a local dealer. Your cost may vary.

People will argue all day long about which is better. Here's one opinion, obviously biased:

My personal preference leans towards dealer filters. I simply believe that most vehicle mfgs build good filters that will do their job well for the intended duration of time.

No problem at 25K unless you drive off-road a lot. I recently changed a u-joint on an 09 tacoma at 65k because the dealer never lubed it...

.... lube the joints if you havnt.... they are super dry from the factory.

I take the time every 6k when i do my oil changes to lube the front and rear driveshafts.

As far as OEM filters... they are damn good.

I've been off road only a hand full of times, one time including mud! Have about 16, 000 miles, lot of creaking and squeaking lately. Hopefully it's not too late for a lube job!I do try to pin point where it comes from and hit with a shot of lubricant... Fixes it temporarily.
