Why didn't he try to hit something is my question. Better to hit a sign post than run off a gorge.

Second, he had a lot of time. A lot of time to lean down, grab the pedal and pull on it with his hand. I had to do that with my Corolla one time when the pedal got stuck under the floor mat.

I feel sorry for them though.

Well....Like maxboostcore said, Its alot easier to make desicions behind a computer monitor, not moving, than it is at 120 mph, heading tward an intersection.

maybe if he had a gm he could have called onstar to shut it off than call 911.what did he think 911 was going to do for him? its suck big time but i think a little common sense would have saved them. emergency brake????neutral??????its a good think i cant afford a lexus or any push button start car.

damn..... it actually felt like my blood dropped a few degrees when i was listening to that. i really dont understand why you're first move wouldn't be neutral though. i know you panic and all but he had plenty of time to get over the initial shock and do something. as far as i know all cars can be put into neutral at anytime regardless of safety features and gearbox style

I've been physically present for people departing this world. It's a little creepy, I'll grant you that.

Just look at the bright side, they don't feel anymore pain or fear. And hopefully what they believe in is what's waiting for them on the other side.

i've never been around someone when they die so maybe thats why it freaks me out so much. i've never really had to deal with death before. my grandmother actually passed about 5 weeks ago but we were expecting it for years and i wasn't there when it happened so it didn't get to me too much. she had alzheimers and didn't remember who any of us were so in my mind she actually died years ago. her body just now realized it

So the guy is a CHP officer supposedly trained in automotive safety. He runs a car off the end of a freeway at 120mph because the accelerator is stuck? Conveniently he has time to call 911 and explain the situation. Maybe he did it on purpose as a murder suicide plot.

Yes maybe it’s a stretch, but I’ve had an accelerator stuck once because of a floor mat and I simple reached down and pulled it back

    grrr...
holy fuck... on that tape...

as for the breaks not working... its the ABS and going at that certain speed, where the ABS cant put more than 20% of brake power to insure the brakes wont lock and have them go tumbling down a road going 100mph with a highier chance of hitting other vehicles.
i *THINK* the same thing goes for putting it in park, and turning off the iginition, the cars computer pervents all of that stuff from happening at those speeds.

PS: i wish he didnt have to push down so hard on the pedal (probly going around 85-100mph) so the pedal didnt get stuck...
