I have a 2014 TRD sport 4x2 and would like guidence on off roading in sand dunes and proper selection of VSC, Auto LSD options.. I know I don't have a 4x4 so I would not be going crazy.

    Options highlighted on Tacoma's manual

    1. VCS OFF, AUTO LSD (VSC OFF button pressed once)
    2. TRAC OFF, VSC OFF, TRAILER SWAY OFF (VSC OFF button held for 3 seconds)

    What should I choose?
On what conditions should I use option 1 and 2

<<<again, I know I don't have a 4x4 or TRD off road so there will be limitations.>>> I plan on going to Glamis Ca. and go to competition hill and tailgate with quads.

    Thanks for your help.

best is going to be a quick tap of the traction control button to turn on the AUTO LSD without engine regulation. Press and holding it is going to lead to you digging one tire

AIR DOWN your tires is going to be the best thing for you.... like stupid low psi. Never park uphill and keep your speed up... and good luck. 2wd in the dunes / sand takes a zero fucks attitude.

Thanks for the reply, I will make sure I lower the PSI on tires. I have gone to smaller dunes in Imperial County Ca. called Heber dunes, The truck did good in very small hills. I just made sure I did not stop on uphill at all. Here is a small video going up a hill.

I have to turn off all the nannies when running sand. You want wheel speed, not engine limitations.

and this is why you tap the traction control button, this turns on auto lsd without engine regulation.
