I've got an '08 DCSB and am currently looking at installing a homelink garage door opener but was told about maybe an OHC from a same year 4runner could be a direct replacement plus the wiring for the buttons...
Maybe just take the section with the buttons and map lights and just swap?
    Has anyone tried this?

Even if it did work, what about the sunroof switch? You can also get any generic homelink rolling code switch on eBay and mount it in the headliner if the 4Runner thing doesn't pan out. There's a writeup on here about it.

I think most people haven't tried it because for some of us the Bluetooth mic is mounted in the spot.

Another option is a rearview mirror upgrade.

you could use the sunroof switch to operate the back slider if you found one of the slider kits someone on here was selling a while back.

The sunroof switch has endless possibilities! Personally, I'd hook it up to the winch I plan to eventually install.
I had seen the homelink ideas, but if i can get a more factory look outa it i'll take it!
