I ordered a new front grill off Amazon to replace my stock grill with a Satoshi.

    http://www.amazon.com/Evan-Fischer-...automotive&vehicleId=4&vehicleType=automotive

The company ended up sending me a rear bumper cover from a 2000 Honda Civic.

After they confirmed the rear bumper would not work as a grill for a Tacoma, they are now requesting my vin to make sure this grill will work on my Taco. Apparently they think that the trim dictates the grill assembly?

I will be painting the grill surround, and cutting the grill itself out to do a HomerTaco insert, so Im not worried about paint matching or something like that.

However, the company is saying the grill will only work for a DLX packaged truck.

Are they correct on this? What am I missing?

The VIN would tell them what trim package your truck had when new, I'd think they'd be the same shape though with just a different finish (black, painted, chrome, etc)
