Has anyone done a plate fender liner/fender flare, like on this ever-so-popular build? I see them on jeeps all the time but never on a Tacoma. I'm curious to see what they'd look like on a truck that was a little more DD friendly.. ie not on 38x15's (or whatever these are). Also, any idea what material these would be? I'm guessing either aluminum or plastic?

Did you see the quick mock up I made on the photoshop thread? I would probably say aluminum for material

If you google the nordic/tundra rigs
    from Iceland/Greenland (wherever)

they commonly utilize similar fender extenders
to cover their over sized tires.

I did! Thanks for that. I haven't decided if I like it or not. They stand out a lot more on my stock-ish truck. I think they'd fit in better if I was running a big bumper, or maybe now that I have the roof rack on it would fit better too.
Got an example? My search for nordic trucks turned up a bunch of semi trucks.

Are you thinking of arctic trucks, he company in Iceland that builds stuff like this? I haven't seen any of these fenders from them :(

I'd rock that. Don't think it would look as good with 33's though.

Google "polar tacoma". It was built for a world record speed run to the south pole. Arctic trucks in Iceland did the suspension and wheels, maybe some other things. I think some Brits did the "styling" which I assume includes the fenders. They seem to be one offs.
