Sooo... It was a nice day yesterday. And I decided to go take a look at the trail. It looks (from the air) like a highway. Not hard at all. I might go out there and wheel around for the day this weekend.

The beach, however, did look a little menacing with the "pebbles" :D

That is just a continuation of the K spur highway. It goes back a ways to houses and such. Pretty easy going right now. We have a potential project to pave part of that so I was out there last week checking it out. A few miles in there is a shoot off to the left that accesses the beach.

I hear it gets pretty goopy in the summer. Had a buddy get his landcruiser stuck back there :)

yeah. I am more interested in trying to make it all the way up to the point. When I flew it it looked doable, but from the air is different than with "boots on the ground"

I have always believed that the two track by the highway between sterling and soldotna is a good short run to test a new rig out. And adding a little mudding in the pipeline trail would make it a good proving ground for any vehicle and it's all within a short drive.

    nope!

It is gonna be a ways out since it is borough land that the state has been asked to work on. Lots of fun things to work out there.

Probably. I was out there in a ford in less than a foot of snow and got back probably 10 miles or so. I hear it gets super gloopy in the summer though.
