how do you safely remove the headrest slider do-dads?

    used to have - 99 2.4L I4 5 lug & 04 prerunner v6
    im trying to replace the do-dads that the headrest slides into, the ones on the back of the seat with the little locking latch.

    I cant figure out how the hell they come off.

    I can source several good replacements at the salvage yard for almost nothing but I cant figure out how they come off.

    they wiggle a little so I assume they snap into place but how do you remove them so they can be reused?

    I hope someone out there knows and can help me.

    I'd get them first, then you can see how they mount.

    im not buying new ones so I need to know how they come off to take them off a second hand seat I already have without breaking them
