Starting with some back ground, I have a 2014 prerunner with 13,000 miles. Installed OME 886 coils and nitrogochargers in the front, nitrogochargers and a 1.5 aal in the rear. I drove the truck around for a few days with stock wheels and tires. No issues at all. A few days after I installed 17 inch wheels with 285/70/17 firestone destination m/t tires, 10 ply. Absolutely great ride except noisey. I put 5,000 miles on those and finally couldn't take it anymore and replaced them with 285/70/17 firestone all terrains P metric tires. After having those put on I felt a slight vibration (more of a wobble in the rear end) in my seat. So I work for Firestone and said rebalanced them. Rebalanced and road forced. 1 tire was 29 lbs so we replaced it and also rotated the rear tires to the front to see if the vibration/wobbled moved to the front. It did not. My master tech recommended to rebalanced the wheels using a finger plate since it's supposed to be lug centric. I don't have hub centric rings. They were all out 1/2 ounce. Now I still feel that wobble/shake in the rear at 50-70 mph. Almost feels like the truck bed is bouncing. I know i have a slight vibration at low speed acceleration but that's not bugging me. Is this a carrier bearing issue? Or should I install shims? I'm completely lost at the moment since I wouldn't think a 1.5 aal would causing any issues.

I am no professional on the Tacoma platform yet, but I do know that on some cars if you do aftermarket wheels without hubcentric rings, that can cause vibrations. They are super cheap, just buy a set and see what happens.

Do you still have your original wheels and tites? Put them on and see if the vibes go away. If the vibes disappear, then you know that's what it is.

I run non hub centric wheels. You need to be more thorough about tightening the lugs. torque in a star pattern to 30 pounds, then 60, then your final tightness. I run 100 lbs, tighter than recommended by Toyota.

It is you Lug Centric Wheels that are the problem. Get hub centric adapter rings or new wheels that are properly designed for a Hub Centric vehicle such as the Tacoma.
