Are these two colors the same? If not what's the difference as they look very close in color.

I have a blue ribbon metallic, as far as I can tell indigo ink is a bit darker but non metallic while blue ribbon is a bit "brighter" and metallic obviously lol.

They're not the same. Blue ribbon is more like a cobalt blue. Brighter and more vibrant than indigo. Years ago I had a tC that was blue ribbon. Great color, I think. Far better than the indigo ink.

Here is the blue ribbon. When the lighting is just right it looks like a much brighter blue then the indigo ink. In the shade it has it similarities

Indigo is still one of my favorite Tacoma colors. Looks great.

Quite doubtful. It would be pretty unusual for a manufacturer to change the name of a paint after such a long run.

Look at the paint code in the door jamb.

    Indigo Ink Pearl is 8P4

In the pic it looks Indigo to me, but pics can lie.

Check the door jamb for the paint code. Indigo is 8P4.

Indigo Ink Pearl is the name of the paint. It is quite sparkly, it's just that the Pearl feature (in any color, including white) is a bit more subtle than a metallic feature.

All pearls and metallic require clearcoat, so they are two stage paints. Many colors are still single stage (non cleared) paints.

For a long term, stored outdoor vehicle, I prefer the single stage. Much easier to maintain, touch up and color match when an error occurs.
