    Hi Everyone,

I've been lurking the forums for a little while now. And very slowly making mods. I'm thinking of adding a 3" lift to my truck but can't get a good idea of what it would look like. Can anyone help with that? I've searched for side by side comparisons for lifted vs. stock but came up empty. I'm not looking for anything to do any heavy off-roading, just wanting to enhance the overall look. Also, I've gotten a quote for the 3" lift installed for $750. Is this a reasonable price?

    Here's my ride:

To be honest, I don't really know. This whole area is completely new to me.

Search through some of the forum here there is A LOT of people that will tell you different things. Personally if you have that much of a budget for lift you can look at getting some bilsteins and blocks or AAL.. Just look around at what other people have and see what you can afford. You shouldn't spend anywhere near $750 on Block and spacers.. you can get a complete Block and spacer 3 inch for around $175-200, Plus install which should only be 3 hours of labor. (only took my friend and I 2 hours to put mine on) ($75-$100) and some shops can even get it cheaper than that.

    Yea boogie is right.
Btw $750 sounds nice, but I recommend staying away from spacer lifts. Do it right the first time!! Look into new coils & struts!

I only have two pictures in my member album. One will be before the lift and one is after. Just click the little camera and it will take you to them.

I did a 3" spacer lift. I didn't need new uca's. I love the ride height but not too happy about the ride. Not the worse ride quality but not what I want. Fast forward about 6 months, i'm about to switch over to 5100s and AAL with either 885s or the Toytec springs.

Install for the spacers took a couple of hours with a friend.

Not the best picture since I dont really take pictures lol

But I dig out a few.

    Without any lift. Stock.

With 3" lift and stock tires and wheels. You can tell the difference from a stock tacoma and a 3" lift tacoma with stock tires/rim

With 285/75/16 MT tire and stock 16" wheel. I gain more lift ;)

Looks good! I'm thinking about grabbing a set of those Wheelers steelies myself. Can't beat the price.

Oh and don't go spacers. Ruins ride quality. OME cheapest kit i think is still under 1000$ but around 1200 you can get a great lift kit. Better to save a little more than hate spacers. 750 is outrageous for spacers anyway.

Depends on the backspacing of the wheel

If your doing stock wheel like mine. Just add a 1.25 wheel spacer.
