Just got this off ebay, http://www.ebay.com/itm/SUPER-LOW-2005-2013-TOYOTA-TACOMA-TRUCK-EZDOWN-TAILGATE-SHOCK-KIT-SG329900EZ-/181617214168?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a493ac2d8&vxp=mtr&nma=true&si=8utosLPnt7hZxk8aX%252F26i4X0d6A%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Seems to fit and work good. I even have extra weight on my tailgate with an aluminum tailgate cover. The only concern I have is the cable gets pushed to the side and is a snug sliding fit between the bracket and shock. Will see how that holds up. The kit is listed for 2005-2013, fit my 2014. For $11.99 figured I'd try it.

Did not search god enough. See this was up a few months back.

I had this same product in my 2009.
Yes, the cable and shock sit very close when tailgate is closed.
It eventually sheared my tailgate cable in half after time.
    I also noticed a gap.
Do you have a gap between tailgate and tail light?

I just installed this on my 2012. It works okay, but the cable gets jammed to the right of the shock. If I remember to push the cable over to the left every time I close the tailgate, (I won't remember) it works okay. Only took a few minutes to install, but by tomorrow evening, I will have the thing taken off and probably trashed. Nice idea, but not worth the money.

Guess I got lucky with mines. After trimming plastic tailgate cover to clear strut , my cable goes to left side and doesn't interfere with cable . I got KB Voodo tailgate cap . (Good product by the way) Got some weight that cap and the struts work perfect. Open handle and it drops fast but doesn't slam.

I twisted like hell on the thing. Finally loosened up enough to remove by hand

The cost of the damper bracket is expensive . And seems like the bracket not for sale any more. One member crom I think adapted it to tail gate which eliminated problem with cable getting in way. If you got tail gatecap and tailgate skin it work really well. Couple times with out stabilizer gate slipped out of my hands and slams pretty hard.
