    This actually happened..

Back in the early '90s Richard Kyle won his Arizona House seat in the November general election more easily than he had won the Republican primary in September.

He and his primary opponent, John Gaylord, were tied vote wise. They agreed to settle things by playing a single hand of five-card stud, cards to be dealt by the speaker of the Arizona House.

Kyle's pair of sevens put him into the general election, which he won..

One more, ..this one in the category of how dumb can a person be.

In 1989, a Maryland high school allowed a female student, 17, to try out for its football team. Under pressure from a federal statute that bars school discrimination on the basis of gender, the school felt it had no choice.

During her first practice scrimmage, the female running back was tackled and suffered massive internal injuries.

In 1992 she filed a $1.5 million lawsuit against the county board of education for failing to warn her how dangerous football actually is.

    ..Duhhhhh!!!

Not sure if this is funny or not.. Make up your own mind.

U.S. District Judge Charles Moye of Atlanta overturned the death sentence given to a murderer. Seems the jury that convicted him 10 years earlier had asked for a Bible while deliberating..

    OK then...!

Years ago, working as a cop in Tempe, Arizona, I was directing traffic one evening at a busy intersection near Sun Devil Stadium as a football game was about to get underway.

We had posted "No Left Turn" signs at that intersection for east bound traffic because the parking lot was completely filled. A guy in a flashy convertible pulled into the left turn lane insisting he could, in spite of the signs and the fact that the lot was full, turn left there if he wanted.

I told him "You can't turn left here", and instructed him to move on. In spite of my instructions he began a left turn anyway. I reached across him, pulled his key from the ignition, and threw it about 50 feet into a dirt lot in the dark.

He got out angry, looked at me, thought the better of things, and walked away leaving his car in the left turn lane where it effectively blocked anyone else trying that stunt.

Once traffic thinned out and the game started, I called a tow truck and had his vehicle impounded. Never saw him again..

    Funny story, supposedly true..

A lady was shopping for pet supplies at a local store when she overheard this conversation.

    Customer: “Excuse me, miss?”

Employee: “Yes, ma’am? How can I help you?”

Customer: “My son’s gerbil just died. It was only two years old. He’s been completely miserable ever since.”

Employee: “Oh… I’m sorry about that. Did you want to look for a new pet? Our small animal section is right over here. We have hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs—”

Customer: “Yes. But I don’t see much point in getting an animal that’s just going to die in two years. Don’t you have any animals that don’t die?”

    Employee: “…excuse me?”

Customer: "Animals… that… don’t… die. Do you have any?”

(The employee gave her a blank look.)

Customer: “Do you have animals the don't die or not?!”

Employee: “Um, I’m afraid all animals die eventually, ma’am. There’s nothing we can do about that.”

Customer: “Fine! I’ll just go to another store, because you people sell nothing but inferior products here!”

The customer stormed out of the store, leaving the bewildered associate standing there. She made eye contact with the lady shopper who heard this conversation across the aisle, and they both cracked up laughing!
