So I am going to start this thread with:

I know I am a retard. I'll just get that out of the way for everyone first.

Situation: I installed my 887s and 1"BL, Running 285 Duratracs on stock Steelies. I have Procomp Uni-balls and nitrocharger shocks.

SO: I may or may not have had my taco alligned post lift....

long story short, I DESTROIED my front tires

    :worthless:

    So:

Do I buy 2 new 285s 5 TRD Beadlock wheels and use one fucked up tire as a spare ?

Cut the fenders and get 35s EXPENSIVE

    Other IDEAS?

    What do you guys think?

    THANKS ?

    1. Get an alignment first
    2. how bad are your rears? if so you could move those up front for now and look at an entire new set soon.

The rears are not bad, I bought them used at about 80% and that's about where they are still at.

    dat camber doe :p

at least for now, you could rotate tires front <-> back and align the front...that will salvage x months of continues use on the ugly tires to plan out the next set.

Between the cab mount plate, cutting the fenders, gears, tires, wheels...

But then again, I would have a 2nd Gen Tacoma on 35s...

I think your on the right path. Get an alignment & get 2 new 285's, especially if your rear 2 tires have lots of tread left. 35's....ehh, not a big fan of those. Your looking at a hell of a lot of trimming, re-gearing & probably having to seek out other added lift options. Don't get me wrong, I've seen some nice rigs on 35's, just not my forte.

Yeah, sticking with 33s would be cost efficient. Thank you for the input.

You probably have bad camber and toe in. Mine looked similar and had -.5* toe and camber.

From the avatar picture it looks like you have an Explorer so you should be familiar with the tires wear from bad camber. LOL.

I'm over on seriousexplorations.com too. I would definitely get the truck aligned, two new front tires (if the rears are still pretty good) and sell the worn tires to someone for that needs tires to get by (get some money for alignment) maybe $80-100 for the pair (not sure what used tires go for on the island, probably not cheap since everything there is over priced to begin with, LOL).

Also if you don't already have a matching spare this would be the time to get one to rotate all five tires to prolong the life of the new tires. If you run the worn out tires on the rears than you run the risk of wearing out the axle bearings and other parts on the rear (I speak form experience of rebuilding my buddy's axle after he did this with badly worn out tires).

Whenever they do an alignment they'll check the front suspension/ steering components, atleast a reputable shop will. Your truck has some nasty camber issues, easy fix depending on problem.

I didn't know you don't have the Explorer anymore. What happened to it? I still have my Sport Trac, doing a SAS, complete 351w/C6/manual t-case swap from a '89 F-250, on 37's.
