    Exactly.

You can do anything you want to any vehicle. The owner/builder is the limiting factor. How far do you want to take it with the resources, time, & money you have?

the october issue of super chevy had a buildup of a 5.3L truck motor in it... the motor was from a junkyard for $800... with headers installed and painless wiring kit #60218 and cable throttle body (the year truck they got it from had drive-by-wire but I think 99-04 doesnt) they made 344hp and 370ft.lbs of tq the 6.0's have little more tq but near same hp... the vette motors make like 350hp-375 I think depending on year... personally the little 5.3's scream great motors... when they put on edelbrock performer heads and a comp cam... it went to 441hp 410 tq... but for the money I say stick it in stock except for headers and good tune up

It will fit, I have a buddy who was looking to do it. The only problem would be the unreal amount of custom work that would have to be done. plus fine tuning it....

possible on a 1st gen... 2nd gen??? fuggehtaboutit go buy something bigger

    Why?

Save yourself a ton of work and get onto racingjunk....you can probably find a built baja truck and save yourself a ton of headaches.....

Or, if you want a real challenge, but a ford V8 in it. You really have to throw some coin if you want to make any power with that.....

Power is great but so is handling. Checked with Advance Adapters on a Chevy 4.3 to the Tacoma. Seems the 151 series trans is the main target. Mine has the W56 or whatever and not as swop friendly. Those 4.3's are dime a dozen now with some pretty good torque. I'll save the LT1 and 400 small block for the FJ40 and the big block goes in the Rat Rod.

man W56 is a very popular swap tranny most of the 80's 4x4's had them behind 22R or 22re I had one behind a L 2.2L diesel
