I have a 2002 Tacoma. The hood release works ok, but the hood won't pop up very much. I have to kinda pry it up a little bit, then it pops up enough to get my fingers underneath. I sprayed WD 40 silicone on everything, but the hood doesn't pop up like it used to. Thanks.

    Reserected from the dead.
The rubber bumpers on the front corner of the engine compartment screw in and out. Back yours off a turn or two. They do compress over time. It will put pressure up to pop up the hood.

I didn't even know that those rubber pieces were adjustable. Works like a charm, now.
