Hey guys, I've been trying everything to fix my "Taco Lean" lately. Doing some research on here pointed to a 1/4" spacer on the driver side on the springs.

My question is will this spacer work? I know one of them is specific to the OME setup and I have billys.

Some additional info, I'm running stock coils and stock UCAs and LCAs. My billys are at 1.75". Would adding this spacer be possible with that setup?

Also bonus internet points if someones explains or links a how-to, I'd love to do it myself as long as it doesn't require unloading the spring.

    Thanks!

Thanks gym_jamz! So just to clarify I DO need to release the tension in the spring to get the spacer on there? That video does seem a little scary, I'd probably take it to a shop to get that pressure unloaded if it is indeed necessary.

Oh no! That video is there to help you how to change out front shocks. But in order to install your top plate, you'll need your front shocks out and install the spacer on top of your top hat. Like so

If you are running the stock coils, you do not need the 1/4" top plate spacer. The stock coils are side specific, and already account for the weight difference left to right.

I totally missed the part where he's using stock coils. If this is the case, T Fades is correct.

Set left one in slot 4, right in slot 3. No spacer used up top at all. This allows full threads on the top three bolts above the hat also. If you hold the spacer up next to the slots, they are the same width.

I run mine this way. Left to right measurement is exactly the same.

I run stock coils and mine leans using them whether stock or lifted where left and right clip settings are the same.

If you're using stock coils, then you don't need a spacer. Toyota already compensated the taco lean by making the drivers side coil a bit longer. Why does it lean? You have the battery, you, and gas tank's weight on that side.

Hey guys, I dont THINK the coils got mixed up when they put my bilsteins in, but I could be wrong.

It was definitely leaning to the driver side before the bilsteins and after, so I think they're in the right spot.

    Any way to tell?

Either way, its leaning, and its annoying to me. Would it hurt to put them in with the stock coils?

This is very true. This truck was stock to the core when I bought it and I noticed the lean the night I brought it home.

I dunno man, maybe I just was one of the unlucky ones :D.

Either way, whats the census on putting the spacer in the stock coils? I don't imagine it'll hurt anything.

I'll probably end up switching the coils when I get time just to see also.

Having my 5100's installed on front Saturday at local shop since I don't have the tools to do myself, from all of my reading its my understanding the best setting is to set at 1.75 and not the top setting. I don't plan on doing anything further as far as lift except waiting for the leaf recall to replace my rear leafs. If that doesn't happen soon I will install the dakar leaf pack. but here is keeping my fingers crossed I don't end up with a lean. I will make sure to tell the shop not to mix up the springs.
