Hey guys I'm sure there's a thread that answers my question somewhere out there but all I can seem to find is for automatics. I've got a 99 tacoma manual 5spd v6 and I'm lookin at bumping up to 315/75 r16s and I know I'm going to need to re-gear from the stock 4.10s. My question is do I want to go with 4.56s or 4.88s? I do a fair amount of hwy driving as most of the trails around me are pretty far out and the taco is my daily driver. I thought I read somewhere that 4.88s with a manual and 35s puts you back close to stock gear ratio? Thanks in advance for any help! :)

With a manual trans go with the 4:88's. The auto has the torque converter to take up some slack, 4:88's will help with not slipping the clutch so much. My 2 cents.

That makes sense I never thought of it that way. Thanks for the reply!
