Hey guys looking for some info from those running the Alcon leaf springs. What I need to know is was there any squeaking with these springs ? Also did you have any issues with the install like the brake cable bracket? Last but not least , how is the ride and how do they handle a load ?

plasti derp rims, BHLM, emblems, (homertaco)raptor style grill, bilistein 5100 set at 2.5 with stock coil, 2 inch custom alcan 8 leaf pack, with icon 2.0 extended travel rear shocks with resies, front and rear spider trax wheel spacers, rigid dully spots mount on the hood with CBI brackets
I have them on mine. They are set for 600 over stock they are stiff without a load in the rear but amazing with a load. Very smooth with weight and they have some flex to em also I am running a set of icon 2.0 ext travel shocks. I highly recomand them for any expo build also they are set for the dreaded taco lean.

I've got them as well. I have the 5 leaf pack that wheelers sells. As mentioned, they are fairly stiff. They have never squeeked, but the bracket mount for the brake line is drilled in the wrong spot. I'll have to drill and tap a new hole.

Yeah I have heard that about the brake cable bracket. Thanks for the info.

    I've got 'em.

    They squeaked.

Turns out, the leaf springs are a tad narrower than the stockers. The driver's side rear mounting bolt becomes a shade too long, and will rub on the frame. Shave it down about 1/4 - 1/2 inch before bolting the Alcans in place and they'll be quiet...

... and awesome. Damn, I love these springs.

The folks at Alcan are the greatest. Seriously. They'll work really hard to help you out - hours on the phone if needed. It seems they prefer the phone to email. Sometimes, I feel like calling them up just to say hello, now. :)

I too had a set for 3.5'' lift with around 500lbs. Being able to customize your springs was great, and their customer service is excellent. The springs lasted about 6 years. I did not go easy on them in terms of loading them up well over my 500lb estimate and they started to not hold loads as well (empty bed with only my cap, they still provided great lift).

The reason my springs may have not lasted as long was because I used my bed for sleeping and camping, in addition to off roading.

But, that being said- Alcans are a work of art, and if you spend the $, not only will you get exactly what you want, but also a made in the USA product made just for your truck. Pretty cool.

My rationale for Alcan is to do it right the first time and be done with it. With that in mind, $690 isn't too bad.
