I have a 2000 tacoma extended cab. When I bought it it had a truck topper on it. I've finally gotten around to putting the topper on Craigslist. I have a guy who's really interested and his taco is a 98. There's no reason why the topper wouldn't fit his truck as long as it's extended cab correct? There's no changes in bed size in those years correct?

It will fit , 95.5-2000 all had the same 6ft bed
The only differences are the cab angles between the single and extended cabs

I think he means that not all 01-04 had the same bed because of the double cab.

All 96-04 extended cabs have a bit of a sloped angle on the back of the cab compared to regular cabs which dont have an angle and are vertical. So if you got a shell made for a reg cab and put it on an ext cab, it would not seal to the cab and there would be a gap. Or got an ext cab shell for a reg cab, it would not seal and actually overhang slightly in the back. I learned this the hard way. You can also call a shell shop and confirm this with them.
