Banning of large soda in NY

and this is one of the many reasons i dont ever seeing myself willfully moving to new york.

History has shown that whenever you ban something here in the US, there will always be a black market for such items, its a shame that if i do go to new york, i will have to go to a speak easy for a liter of cola

On a serious note, this topic is on the news as I'm typing this. It goes into effect in March and one group sponsored by the beverage industry is considering a lawsuit against the city calling the decision unconstitutional.

Personally I think Rich91710 hit it right on the head in post #41. It's all about the city collecting more tax revenue, and they're using obesidy as the excuse.

Maybe now would be a good time to start a prohibition style soda running underground? Go to your local speak easy, say the secret password, then you're shown to a back room with large sodas of every flavor.

 

we call it "bloombergia".... NYC is not the USA, at least in terms of liberty anyway... most major cities in the US are not, ..but NYC, chicago, D.C., etc. are some of the most aggregiously fascist places run by entrenched one-party political machines.... these places also happen to have the most crime, least freedom, highest taxes, ...and in the case of NYC, most fascist nanny-state food police... sounds like wonderful place to live
