does anyone use blocks for rear lift ? I'm not an offroader per say but do like the look of a lifted truck blocks seem to be the easiest and least expensive way also, are they safe ?
to lift the rear any thoughts here?? thanks !

    Right behind you. NY
    Vehicle:
    18’ F150 SCREW LB 3.5 EcoBoost
    Bilstein 5100’s (x4), 275/65/20 Cooper XLT AT3’s
They aren't ideal but lots of people use them. I used them for a bit.

I have one inch blocks on the rear of my Taco . The thing about blocks are as long as you dont do hard core four wheeling and not flex your suspension to an extreme your fine . Plus if you do towing with heavy trailers then its not suggested .

It depends. When springs get weak it doesn't take much of a block to increase axle wrap to a pretty bad extent from what I've seen. If you do a 1 inch block you'd probably be okay, but going up from there could probably get a little annoying with the wrap just taking off from a stop light rather hard if you have an 11 year old set of Toyota leaf springs.

i've had em for about 10k and no problems....yet

i think they ride a little better than AAL's (a little less "bounce" going over speed bumps) but others might feel the opposite.

Well yes you will have much more of a rake if you only lift the back . I my self am running billys 5100s on all four corners with the front set at 1.25 lift and one inch blocks in the rear and my front end still sits a half an inch lower . You can get coil leveling kits for the front that run around 100 dollars but get steel not the aluminum ones

    No.

Ride should not be affected either, since you are using the original springs.

Don't go more than 2" though, for several reasons, one of which is that the spring-pack will interfere with the operation of the e-brake cable (on most 1st gens anyway).

shackles will be about the same price once u factor in new ubolts to accomedate the block. i just did a 5100 and eibach paired with an adjustable shackle (1,1.5, and2) for a buddy of mine. since ur first gen and all. i think he said he had about $400 in everything (he didnt replace rear shocks)[IMG]

this was set at 1" but he set it at 1.5" the next week, said it was too nose high

this is exactly what he got and its right at $440 but i will say the front was a bit of a pain with no spring compressor. those springs are as long as they possibly can be and still get everything crammed back where it goes.
